Our review of 2019…. A year ago, we shared our New Year’s resolutions here. Today, as we embark on new projects, we are taking stock of what we managed to stick to (or not…)
-
SORT WASTE BETTER!
In other words, introduce food waste sorting and, why not, keep hens in our garden!
We are getting better at sorting our waste! However, we have not yet met our little hens.
- We have a magnificent electric bike at the office, which we have been using since last April. When the weather is fine, we clock up the miles! Let’s be honest: it is impossible for an agent to cycle to ALL their viewings, but for journeys of just a few miles, we opt for the bike!
We have stuck to it, and we love our little bike more and more.
- Reduce our coffee consumption. That is why we have decided to limit how much coffee we drink. All things considered, too much caffeine is not good for you!
Mmmmmh, no! Our results are rather poor in that respect.
- Calculate our environmental footprint, to understand the areas we can improve and offset those we cannot by planting trees.
We have not yet incorporated this process into our daily routine… any advice on how to do so?
- In the same spirit, use the search engine Ecosia, which donates 80% of its profits to a reforestation programme. That is why our employees are beginning to use it.
Yes, yes, yessss!
- Prioritise the use of recycled paper. In reality, we do use it, but not enough.
No, not yet…
- Spend less time deciding on the day what we are going to eat for lunch. To achieve this, Tupperware containers and homemade lunches should be prioritised! Some team members already seem to have adopted this habit, but not everyone has yet.
Yes, this is undoubtedly the resolution we have kept best!
- No more throwing away the contents of the fridge at the end of each week! No more leaving a half-eaten tub of filet américain to go off. We have one “leftovers” lunch per week!
Oops, no, not really.
- More professional videos to showcase the properties entrusted to us! This means that the properties will be presented more attractively and give you a true picture of what they are really like. We have indeed noticed that you really appreciate this type of virtual presentation.
Challenge accepted! Have you seen them? Do you like them?
- Strengthen our team and provide it with the best possible training! We want our team to be close-knit and work in unison. To achieve this, we are relying on our longstanding team members to pass their knowledge on to newcomers, while also organising more team activities so that everyone can get to know one another better!
- Organise conversation groups in Dutch to improve our agents’ proficiency. As a result, we will be better equipped to communicate in as many languages as possible.
Sadly, our biggest regret of 2019 is that we didn’t do it…
- Interact as much as possible with our followers on social media.
Yes! And we love it. Never hesitate to contact us on Facebook or Instagram!
- Increase our market share in Walloon Brabant.
Little by little…
In conclusion
Indeed, we do our best to improve a little every day… but change takes time! Fortunately, everything is easier with a close-knit team! Ultimately, our assessment of 2019 is not negative at all, but there is always room for improvement!
So, what will our resolutions be for 2020? And what are yours? Find out in the next instalment!
